Who we are

With over twenty years of experience working with the community of A’Ukre, we use participatory methodologies to support STEAM education and leadership opportunities for youth and women. The aim is to enhances local capacity in informational technologies, media literacy, language preservation, athletics, healthy environments, and innovative solutions to sustainability challenges. The community currently faces multiple threats to their livelihoods and well-being: Illegal and legal mining, Intensive agro-industrial practices, contaminated waters and lands, deforestation, land degradation and Climate Change. These all affect community governance, well-being and youth involvement. A’Ukre residents rely on professional opportunities, local agroecological practices, harvests of wild forest fruits and nuts, local game and fish, and fruit orchards to sustain their families.
